    偶尔写写"博客"的生活方式, 我以前挺喜欢的。自从开始上大学就没有这方面的坚持了,
    所以现在趁着暑假 试着重新捡起来这个习惯。
    大学生活一直充满着值得记忆和分享的东西; 可是大学的第一年一晃眼就上过去了; 而且这暑假才刚过多久? --我却对大一很多可贵的部分已经呈半迷糊态了。总觉得, 这不太靠谱。
    呵呵 所以希望可以在这个"大巴"上安定下来吧 托这个地方 帮我的大脑整理记录着生活。

    那天有个加拿大的朋友来北京玩儿了。
    他今年差不多20岁 血统而言是地地道道的中国人 [更具体地说 是地地道道的上海人]
    不过他一直就在加拿大生长着 这次算是懂事以来第一次回中国来看看。
    还记得几年前在网上聊天的时候 他问过我: "so uh.. do people play soccer in china too?"
    =0)
    当时我就发觉 他已经对这个国家没有什么概念了吧。

    我看他倒是到哪都很兴奋, 眼睛睁得大大的, 好像半是惊讶、半是想把所有的景象都吸进去。
    还不错, 他挺开心, 以后想每年都回来看看。
    在20岁之际 第一次看到爸爸妈妈长大的地方 看到"自己人"的国家 我想那确实是一种奇妙的感觉。

    那天我和他 还有他的妈妈 一起去转了转天坛和故宫。这两个地方 ---哎。

    每次看到都觉得 ---咦, 比我记忆中还要美。

    那天路过很多有意思的东西 其中一些 就顺便照了下来。
    有很多东西它毕竟是拍不下来的;

    或许说 在它出现的那短暂的几秒 你宁愿去看着它 而不是去拿起相机 摁下快门。

     one of the most likeable things about 天坛: the sprawling, parklike areas around the main temple itself which always has bunches of people singing and the like --- lots of sheer enjoyment in the air.

    this little person was having a great time dancing around to the singing =)

    loads of 天坛's walls are terribly scarred

     they're not the only things that've suffered..

     wonder if someone forgot their waterbottle?

     as we were leaving down the wellworn steps

    just about all the trees i saw in 故宫 are equally fascinatingly gnarled. wonder what made them like this?

    查了一下, 北京市政府在2004年投了400,000,000人民币 为了修复包括故宫和天坛在内的30多个历史古迹。看来 还是在这方面做了不少工作。

    不过 不知道为什么故宫和天坛还是有大片大片的地方显得非常非常的"憔悴"?
    也许工程要慢慢来吧。

    据 China Daily 所说: "More than 200 famous heritage sites around the city... have been or are to be repaired between 2000 and 2008,"...
    w_W 希望给这些工程投钱不光是做出来给奥运会看的就好。

     So I've completely neglected my old blog for over a year now ---and it was such a sporadic thing in the first place that even a word as endearingly inelegant-sounding as "blog" borders on presumptuous. And yet, with my track record of a chronic inability to keep it up, I've decided to start anew here. I suppose I've kind of missed it. Churning out the occasional post made me sit down and unravel some things. Things that otherwise would've remained haplessly and lethargically knotty in my head (or on a hard drive). 

     So here's to the start of lots of profoundly-useless-ness: groans and gushings on the many highs and lows of academic life, heaps of photographs and other visualstuffs, random weblinkages, smatterings of music & movies, extensively articulated yearnings for certain types of food, lots of randommumbles..... and other things : )
